Picking a telecom provider is easy to get wrong because most of the differences aren't visible until something goes wrong. Before you sign anything, ask for answers to these:
- What is the guaranteed uptime, in writing, not marketing language?
- What happens during an outage? Who do you call, and how fast do they respond?
- Can you scale up or down without penalty?
- Are there hidden fees for support calls, changes, or early termination?
- Who owns your phone numbers if you switch providers later?
A good provider will answer all five without hesitation. If you're getting vague answers or a sales pitch instead of specifics, that's information too.
